The dual-wavelength Candela GentleMax Pro Plus uses Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths, which provides treatment options for all skin tones, subject to individual assessment. The laser targets pigment in the hair follicle during its active growth phase.
Hair grows in cycles, so a course of treatments is normally required. Facial treatments are typically spaced four to six weeks apart and body areas six to eight weeks apart. The number of sessions and the results achieved vary according to the treatment area, hair colour, hair density, hormones and individual response.
Laser is not generally effective on grey, white, very light blonde or red hair. Where some hairs are not suitable, electrolysis may be considered, and some clients choose a combination approach.
