NHS Hair Epilation Referrals
Results
WILD is an NHS-commissioned provider of hair epilation services and accepts referrals for eligible patients in line with local NHS commissioning criteria.
NHS-funded treatment is provided following formal referral and approval.
Treatment is delivered in a private clinic setting, with the same focus on dignity, consistency, and individual care throughout your course.
Private laser hair removal appointments remain available for self-funding clients. Referrer information is available on request.
What to expect
Treatment plans are tailored to the individual, recognising that hair growth and response can vary.
All treatments are carried out using medical-grade laser technology, suitable for a wide range of skin types.

NHS-funded treatment is available by referral only and must be approved prior to starting.

Honestly?
I don’t market my treatments as “pain free” because laser is still heat being delivered into the follicle… and I’d rather be transparent than overpromise.
What I can say is that most clients are genuinely surprised by how manageable it is
At WILD by Vanessa Hill I use the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus which has a built-in cooling system designed to keep treatments as comfortable as possible.
A few things that can affect sensation:
• some areas are naturally more sensitive
• thicker, denser hair can feel sharper
• hormonal areas can react differently
• anxiety beforehand is usually worse than the treatment itself 😅
Most clients describe it as:
“a quick hot flick”
“an elastic band snap”
or
“not nearly as bad as I expected.”
And the best part? Treatments are FAST.
Upper lip = minutes.
Underarms = super quick.
Even larger areas are over before most people have had time to properly worry.

The actual treatment itself is incredibly quick, and most clients tell me afterwards it was far easier than they expected.
The important part isn’t how long the appointment takes —
it’s consistency, correct settings, and understanding why facial hair behaves differently for everyone.

“Are you medically suitable?”
But honestly… that’s only the starting point.
Before I even think about treatment settings, I’m assessing things like:
• your hair colour
• the thickness and density of the hair
• how deep the root appears to be
• your skin tone & undertone
• the contrast between your skin and hair
• the area being treated
• hormone-related growth patterns
• previous hair removal methods
• whether the hair is coarse, fluffy or mixed
• how reactive your skin appears
• whether the skin is dehydrated, sensitised or inflamed
• how your skin responds during the patch test
• medication & health history
• sun exposure & fake tan history
• whether settings need adjusting for intimate or facial areas
• your comfort levels, expectations & long-term goals
Because good laser hair removal isn’t about using “high settings.”
It’s about using the RIGHT settings for YOU.
